news
Thursday June 14, 2012
As promised, Shane Harper has released the official video for his new single, "Dancin' in the Rain." The video, which premiered this week on Disney and Radio Disney, shows Shane taking advantage of a rainy day, and, of course, dancing in the rain. The track appears on the extended edition of Shane's debut, self-titled album, available now exclusively at Target.

Shane Harper is a 'triple threat' actor, dancer, and musician, with a recurring role on the Disney Channel hit show Good Luck Charlie (he's also starred in Wizards of Waverly Place and Zoey 101). His album was Executive Produced by Adam Anders (Executive Music Producer of Glee and the upcoming film Rock of Ages) and released through Anders' record label, Deep Well Records.

Fans can pick up the standard edition of Shane's album on iTunes. For more of the latest news, visit Shane's official site at shaneharper.com, as well as his Facebook and Twitter.

biography
Establishing himself as an artist with a quadruple threat—singer, actor, dancer, songwriter— all before the age of ten, Shane Harper is a rising talent who continues to evolve with each new project. On the music side, Harper’s self-titled album was released physically through Target and digitally through iTunes and Amazon across the U.S. on February 14th, which was Shane’s nineteenth birthday. The album was Executive Produced by Adam Anders (Executive Music Producer of Glee and the upcoming film Rock of Ages) and released through Anders’ record label, Deep Well Records.

Anders discovered Harper through Myspace and signed the young artist who wrote and co-wrote almost every song on the album. Harper was thrilled to have the opportunity to write on his debut album, blending his personal experiences into each song. Of the opportunity to work with Anders, Harper says, “It’s so incredible to record an album under the direction of someone I respect and who is so extremely talented—his musical genius is very much appreciated in helping me put forth my debut album.”

Shane Harper’s self-titled album features the Top 10 hit “One Step Closer,” which he premiered on Disney Channel’s TV series Good Luck Charlie (where he has a recurring role) and most recently on So Random. The second single “Rocketship” was a Top 20 hit on Radio Disney and his upcoming third single “Dancin’ In The Rain,” will be released and added to Radio Disney in April.

Shane has been seen on national tours with Cody Simpson, Grayson Chance and Demi Lovato and will soon be performing at an all ages show at The Roxy in Los Angeles on April 14, 2012. Comments Harper, “After working so hard on writing these songs, to be able to get out and perform them live and to see the positive reaction has been an incomparable experience. I’m really looking forward to doing more shows, connecting with my fans and sharing new music with them.”

Harper began dancing at the age of nine, and began competing in regional amateur dance competitions until the age of 14 when he began working in the entertainment industry. Since then he has appeared in Nickelodeon’s show Dance on Sunset and So You Think You Can Dance, as well as a principal dancer in High School Musical 2. Harper grew up playing the guitar, which helped him define his sound with his new album and is why each of his songs has the guitar prominently featured.

As an actor, besides his role on Good Luck Charlie, Harper has landed roles on Wizards of Waverly Place, Zoey 101, and in the films My Name is Kahn and Flipped. On his down time, Harper continues to train himself in martial arts. He grew up practicing Kempo Karate, and had his black belt by 13. Harper credits martial arts with teaching him discipline and respect at a young age.

Originally from Oceanside, CA, Harper moved to Irvine, CA at the age of 5 and currently lives in Los Angeles. He was trained at the South Coast Performing Arts Center and was homeschooled. His grounded perspective on his gaining success is attributed to his supportive parents and family.

All of the above combined with Harper’s plans to tour this summer and the release of his new single “Dancin’ In The Rain” will no doubt make this young star a household name by 2013.
