biography
Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD met on the back porch of a house party in 2002, freestyle rapping. Soon after, Peter was cast into Lloyd’s touring improvisational troop, Mission IMPROVable and a hilarious and creative relationship blossomed.
As comedians, Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD began performing live rap battles as part of improv shows in Los Angeles in the summer of 2010. They would freestyle hilarious and poignant verbal altercations set to hip hop beats based off audience-suggested characters. The crowds overwhelming responses and positive feedback led to the next step. With their extensive background in comedy and music, the duo decided to make videos of rap battles between historical characters and celebrities. Nice Peter asked the followers on his already growing and successful personal YouTube channel about potential match-ups and the fan response was amazing. Responding to the online demand, the first official rap battle between John Lennon (Nice Peter) and Bill O’Reilly (EpicLLOYD) was recorded at Maker Studios in Culver City, California and debuted September 2010. The video went viral and now boasts over 13 million views! Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD decided to continue creating new bouts based on loyal followers’ suggestions and it was the match-up between Darth Vader (masked Nice Peter) and Adolf Hitler (not-proud-of-this-role EpicLLOYD) that launched the series from a one-off hit to a recurring, exciting and epic series. The episode turned Nice Peter and EpicLLOYD into YouTube celebrities that bring an unprecedented average of 20 million views each month to the channel (www.youtube.com/nicepeter). Fans will continue to find each song available for download on iTunes and Epic Rap Battles of History swag for sale at www.epicrapbattlesofhistory.com. |
